Worldbuilding Problems & Solutions
While many of the problems and solutions that arise during the worldbuilding process will be unique to the individual world being crafted, there are a variety of common problems and solutions that are frequently encountered during the creation of fictional settings. Some of these problems are centered on potential audiences – for example how can an audience be expected to understand anything at all if everyone keeps speaking a fictional language? Other problems may arise while incorporating unusual elements like magic or futuristic technology – how does a worldbuilder, for instance, keep a wizard from simply magicking away every problem they encounter? Many of these problems have standard solutions that have been developed over time. For others, worldbuilders should be aware that it may be better to simply ignore the problem.
