The Solution is to Shrink the World

The Solution is to Shrink the World

PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

The solution is to shrink the world refers to creating a world where vastly different regions and biomes (deserts, mountains, jungles, frozen landscapes) are only about a days walk away from one another. This occurs often in video game worlds and helps to solve the distance problem. Worldbuilders (and players) want interesting locations to be easily accessible, even when that may not be entirely realistic. Most audiences have grown to accept some level of shrinkage.

Problems & Solutions

Seek ye the rare and powerful Moonthistle. It is a magical flower that only grows in far distant and exotic lands – about a 10 minute walk south of here just past the troll.
