This Solution is a Cultural Thing
While some elements may not make sense within the context of a fictional world, often neither does culture and traditions. There may be a better way to make a pie, but if a people have always done things this way, or just prefer it, that may not matter. It may not make sense for a fictional army to use swords when firearms are available, unless, that is, it’s a cultural thing. Perhaps an army uses a tactic or a specific weapon just to inspire fear or perhaps they don’t use the obvious magical approach because they consider it a faux pas. Worldbuilders can tailor their cultures to help solve problems that may arise when designing fictional worlds. Yes, people can teleport in this world, but this group doesn’t do that. They stick with horse-drawn wagons. You wouldn’t understand, it’s a cultural thing.
