Potion Shops
Potion shops are shops often found in game-oriented fantasy worlds where players can buy or purchase potions or gain quests relating to procuring recipes or ingredients. Potion shops may also be the location of a healer. They may be found in town. The potions sold may be health, stamina, mana, antidote, transformation, or other potions. Potions may have real effects, or may be fakes. These buildings may contain spell books, cauldrons, herbs & other potion components, and other items. They may be home to witches, wizards, potion masters, snake oil salesmen, or apothecaries.

| Synonyms: apothecary’s |
| Example Mythonyms: Witch Hazel’s Potion Emporium |

Designing Fictional Potion Shops
Fictional potion shops are often depicted as cluttered spaces. A hearth or fireplace may be central, being important for the creation of the potions sold at this location. Bookcases may line the walls full of recipe books and books of magic. Strange plants, harvested and dried, may hang from the wooden rafters above.

When designing potion shops first consider what is possible using a potion. As with all magical items, their existence will alter how the world functions. Also consider the role of the potion shop in the local society. The establishment (and owner) may be a respected member of the community or may be ostracized.
