Cage Traps

Cage Traps

ELEMENT

Cage traps are traps that employ a large cage to ensnare victims. These fictional traps may be disguised as ordinary rooms until triggered, they may fall from the ceiling to enclose helpless adventurers, or they may operate by some other means. Cage traps are usually non-lethal, unless whoever is caught is unlucky and forgotten about. In that case, the cage may be decorated with skeletal remains. Cage traps will often feature locks and keys.

Synonyms: falling cage traps, cage rooms
Example Mythonyms: the chamber of bars
