Blade Traps
Blade traps are a type of trap that uses a swinging, falling, or spinning blade to injure potential victims. These may be sharp axes that swing side-to-side, saws that move out from the floor or walls, or massive guillotines that fall from the ceiling. These fictional traps are often driven by ancient automated systems and are often triggered by pressure plate or tripwire (if they aren’t always in motion). Fictional blade traps are frequently found in ancient temples and game dungeons.

Overview
Fictional blade traps often have a pattern or rhythm to the movement of the blades that narrative characters or game players may use to their advantage. As with all traps, skeletal remains or bloodstains can be used to provide clues that danger is near.
