Farm terraces are farms or gardens arranged in a terrace. Such architecture may help increase the amount of growing area on a cliff, valley, mountain, hill, or other steep embankment. There may be stairs between the terraces as well as bridges connecting the plots. Rivers, streams, and waterfalls may be present. There may be windmills or watermills nearby.

Rice paddies are often arranged in terraces. Coffee may also be grown in this manner.
