Evil Timelines
Evil timelines are a version of an alternate timeline where some great evil or bad event has occurred. Often these fictional timelines are ruled by fascist or imperialist factions and may be trying to conquer other timelines or escape from their own. They may also be a timeline in which a cataclysmic event has occurred, rendering them a post apocalyptic-like setting. The people of evil timelines may all be evil versions of people in the main timeline, or may be a mixed bag often with both evil and resistance factions.

Designing Fictional Evil Timelines
Foundations
Overview
Fictional evil timelines are often depicted as either being in a complete state of disarray and borderline post-apocalyptic, or ruled by an evil faction such as a fascist or imperialist faction.
Designers will want to consider when the evil and main timelines diverged, as this can give them insight into how closely related the two may be. People and locations in one timeline may nearly mirror that of the other, or they may be so far removed from one another that they must be designed closer to two completely different worlds. Keep in mind that places in one timeline may be in a different state (ruins, for instance). The presence of elements like giant statues (of an evil tyrant or evil god), are frequently used as contextual clues.
