Thieves’ dens are locations, typically hidden, where thieves, thugs, and other scoundrels can hide from the authorities, relax, and plan their next theft. Fictional thieves’ dens may be bandit camps, taverns, secret clubs, or other building. It may be a hidden room or hidden chamber within another location. It may be located in a town, city, the docks, or the slums. It is home to thieves, thugs, pickpockets, cat burglars, and other criminals.

Designing Fictional Thieves’ Dens

Fictional thieves den are hidden places, secreted away in locations where only a few know. They may be tucked away in the sewers, hidden within an abandoned subway station, or exist as a backroom to a nightclub. These spaces may have secret entrances, or doors that open only upon hearing the correct password.
