The Anti-Solution

The Anti-Solution

PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

Powerful elements like magic, gods, futuristic technologies, psychic powers, superhero abilities, and the like, can have massive impacts on a world. This can cause all number of problems for a worldbuilder. One method designers use to solve these problems is to introduce new elements that directly counter these problematic elements. Things like magic resistant materials, psychic dampening helmets, energy fields that nullify superpowers are all examples of this approach. If evil doers can teleport, prisons and bank vaults become useless. If these places are now coated with anti-teleportation paint, this problem is solved.
