Mountaintops

Mountaintops

ELEMENT │ TERRAIN

Mountaintops are the areas at the very apex of mountains or mountain ranges. In fictional worldbuilding these locations are special, being both remote and hard to access. They may be sites where temples, oracles, castles, altars, or god domains are located. They may have stunning vistas or skeletal remains (or both). There may be dangerous cliffside pathways that lead to the peaks. Mountaintops are often the only sites where a fictional plant can grow. They are home to monks, hermits, spirits, mountaineers, and sherpas.

Synonyms: mountain peaks, summits
Example Mythonyms: Peak Snowburn
