Missile Silos

Missile Silos

ELEMENT │ PLACE

Missile silos are fortified underground locations that house a missile or rocket. They are often in hidden locations or underground. They may contain a bunker for soldiers that wait to receive orders to launch. They may also contain a ventilation system, barracks, and radar dish. There entrance may be a hidden door, staircase, or elevator. Missile silos are common elements in worlds that feature a cold war or in post-apocalyptic worlds where they often are in ruins. The explosive device they contain may have removed, may still be there, or may be at risk of explosion creating narrative opportunities.

Synonyms: weapon bunkers
Example Mythonyms: Silo Two-Echo, Redcreek Bunker

Designing Fictional Missile Silos
