Elevator shafts are the housing for elevators. Often in worldbuilding they are used for characters or creatures to move from one level of a structure to another without detection. Elevator shafts may connect to the rooftops, penthouses, sublevels, or the vents. They are home to spies, cat burglars, and people having a bad day.
