Manors
Manors are large buildings or collection of buildings that house a lord or other wealthy person, their family, and a collection of servants. Manors may be located in a wealthy district or on their own plot of remote land. Fictional manors are often haunted. They may have their own gardens, fountains, libraries, and secret chambers. They are home to lords, the wealthy elite, servants, butlers, ghosts, and wealthy heroes.

Designing Fictional Manors
The existence of a manor in a world often suggests income and wealth disparity. Consider how the owner of this establishment came by their wealth or continue to earn it. Manors may also be associated with a ruling or noble class. Consider if the political and economic state of your world or region supports the existence of manors.
How old is the manor, who designed and built it, and who were it’s original owners?
The Grounds
Manors often sit on private lands, or grounds. These areas frequently have well kept gardens, hedge mazes, wells, reflecting pools, fountains, and statues. If the manor is old and has been in the possession of a family for generations, there may be a family graveyard on site. Caretakers and groundskeepers may have their own cottages on site.
