Floating Ice
Floating ice are chunks of ice drifting on the surface of a body of water. They can be found on ice-cold rivers and lakes or on oceans as icebergs. Fictional floating ice chunks may be either small, perhaps barely large enough to stand on, or as massive as islands. In this case structures such as fishing shacks, ruins, shipwrecks, or other structures may be present on their surface. Smaller floating ice chunks are often terrain hazards and can easily crush anyone unlucky enough to fall into the water. Even boats may be crushed by the massive blocks. For those on foot, floating ice chunks may offer a means to traverse the partially frozen surface, though they may be prone to break apart or flip over when stepped on.
