Designing Fictional Primordial Gods and Spirits
Overview
Primordial gods and spirits are the first beings to emerge from chaos, nothingness, or a primal state, and are often considered the progenitors of the traditional gods and goddesses associated with a particular pantheon or religion. They represent the fundamental forces and entities that existed before the creation of the ordered cosmos, often personifying abstract concepts like chaos, creation, darkness, or love. These deities are generally not the focus of active worship, as they are often seen as distant and impersonal forces. They are typically depicted as immensely powerful beings, representing the raw and unformed power of creation.
