Junkyards are locations where trash, debris, and wreckage is discarded. Fictional junkyards may be located near the slums or contain slums within them (often as scrapyard towns). Junkyards may be home to guard dogs or other guard animals and scavengers. There may still be useful material at these sites and scavengers may eke out an existence looking for valuable items.
