Dipartite Gods & Spirits
Dipartite gods and spirits are beings of opposing domains, such as night and day, creation and destruction, or life and death. These fictional god(s) may be a single god, being, or force manifesting as two different aspects, or may be two different gods with different personalities that are in some way paired together. In fictional stories these dual gods may be at war with one another, may dislike one another, or may exist in peace and harmony each with respect for the others’ role. Often these beings are depicted as siblings or twins.

Designing Fictional Dipartite Gods
Overview
Fictional dipartite gods and spirits are often depicted as beings with domains that naturally appear diametrically opposed to one another. This opposition is highlighted using different personalities, colors, and forms. Often those that worship or are aligned with these beings, such as religious factions or cults, will exist as a pair of opposed factions. If the design uses a single god that oversees two distinct domains, there may be a split-personality present.
