Trade factions are groups associated with the transport or trade of goods and services. Fictional trade groups can be important factions in fictional worlds, particularly if trade routes go through dangerous areas or if transportation is costly or in some way prohibitive. Trade factions may be responsible for blockades, sanctions, and other aspects of diplomatic relationships between other factions. They may be at war with pirate factions or hire them to harass competitors.
