Scattered Factions

Scattered Factions

ELEMENT │ FACTION

Scattered factions are factions, civilizations, or groups of people that share a culture and history but who have been forcibly removed from their homelands. This removal may be because of conquering forces, a natural disaster, economic conditions, internal politics, or some other reason. In fictional worlds this may be because of the destruction of a home planet, the razing of a village, or a sudden flood. Fictional scattered factions may cling tightly to their culture and traditions, and may attempt to create small pockets of territory that feel like their original home. Often, scattered factions are looked down upon by others in their new homes that do not wish them to be there. This conflict can create narrative opportunities for worldbuilders. Members of scattered factions may be seeking to restore or reclaim their homeland or may simply be seeking vengeance.

Synonyms: diaspora, dispersed populations
Example Mythonyms: the Diaspora of the Wood Elves
