Ravine Labyrinths

Ravine Labyrinths

ELEMENT │ TERRAIN

Ravine labyrinths are a labyrinthian network of interconnected gullies, gulches, and canyons usually found in badlands areas. They are a frequently element in narrative worlds where they may be sites of races, chases, and journeys. They may contain ancient ruins or old mines.

Synonyms: canyon mazes
Example Mythonyms: Mino’s Gulch

Designing Fictional Ravine Labyrinths

When designing ravine labyrinths, consider how all the paths are laid out. There may be multiple ways to reach a destination, though some may be more perilous than others. There may be terrain hazards and beasts that lurk in the narrow spaces. For added tension, consider adding flash floods or stampedes.
