Nomadic Factions
Nomadic factions are factions, groups, or cultures that roam the lands without a permanant home. Whether it’s desert wanderers, tribes following migration routes, or interstellar spacefarers, nomads live life on the move, only stopping in a single place for short periods of time. Depending on the world and genre, these groups may possess vehicles to make their travels easier – consider wagons, animal mounts, recreational vehicles, and/or starships. Nomads may also be traders or cultures that have been dispersed.

Designing Fictional Nomadic Factions
A nomadic lifestyle can be a difficult one. Consider where nomads get their food from – they may be hunters or herders following a migrating fictional animal, expert foragers or scavengers, or tradespeople that barter goods for food and money. Traveling musicians, circusfolk, and other professions may also be a type of nomadic peoples.
Nomads often travel in set routes, making their way through the same regions or towns year after year. They may follow the seasons, exploring cooler lands in the summer before the snowfall before making their way to warmer or tropical places for the winter.
Fictional nomads may have stories of things happening in far away places. They may bring with them news of great events, brewing wars, or evil lurking beyond the mountains.
