Medical Bays

Medical Bays

ELEMENT

Medical bays are rooms or locations where injuries and illnesses can be treated. They may be located in ships, spaceships, space stations, outposts or other places. They may contain hospital beds, med tanks, cryochambers, and other medical equipment. They are home to doctors, nurses, medical personnel, and patients. When designing medical bays, consider the equipment needed to treat the most common and most extreme injuries and illnesses seen in your fictional world.

Med bays are often sites of quarantine and are an opportunity to explore fictional diseases.

Note! Worldbuilders will wish to avoid a red colored cross as the symbol for their medical bays. This symbol is reserved for use by the International Red Cross (as is the red crescent symbol). Many worldbuilders substitute a green cross instead.

Synonyms: med bays, wards, clinics, hospitals
Example Mythonyms: Med Bay One
