Grass seas are areas, common in fantasy worlds, where tall grasses dominate the landscape. These grasses act analogous to a fantastic sea, and boats (afloat on the grass by either magical means or some form of future hover technology) may sail across these great expanses. Grass seas may have their own form of ‘islands,’ usually in the form of rocky karsts, mesas, or hills. Grass seas are a similar element to sand seas, though they are less common. They may have their own leviathans lurking beneath the grassy waves.
Worldbuilders using these areas should not discard what is beneath the ‘surface.’ Tall grasses may form tunnels and avenues all hidden beneath the swaying meadows.
