Fronts

Fronts

ELEMENT │ PLACE

Fronts are non-criminal businesses run by a criminal organization to make their other illicit profits appear legitimate. Fictional fronts may have hidden backrooms, hideouts, or secret clubs where criminal activity occurs. These are locations that act as normal businesses (laundromats, car washes, bodegas, etc.) but are owned and operated by a criminal organization.

When designing a front consider who owns it and how separated it is from the underlying criminal enterprise.

Synonyms: money laundries
Example Mythonyms: Squeaky Clean Laundry and Car Wash
