Designing Fictional Archery Ranges
Overview
Archery ranges are often depicted as open fields with archery targets located on one end. These targets may be backed by hay piles, sand dunes, or earthen mounds to contain arrows that miss their target. While the stereotypical archery target is round with a series of concentric circles (often alternating between red and white in color), fictional archery ranges may use other targets – including straw dummies, scarecrows, and unlucky prisoners.
