Acid Lakes

Acid Lakes

Acid lakes (synonyms: corrosive ponds; example toponyms: the Hungry Sea) are accumulations of acidic liquid. These may be in volcanic areas, fantasy realms, or post-apocalyptic wastelands. Acid lakes may be small or may be as vast as an ocean. If sufficiently expansive, worldbuilders should consider if there are sea craft sturdy enough to cross them and what sea storms there may be. Acid lakes may have once been normal bodies of water that became acidified. In game worlds, acid lakes may be terrain hazards.
