Underground lakes are bodies of water that exist beneath the earth. These lakes may be present within a single vast underground chamber or be spread out across multiple cavern spaces. They may be a cenote. In more fantastic worlds, large enough lakes may be an underground sea. These lakes may be fed by spring or underground river. Underground lakes of fantasy worlds may be found underneath mountains or within an empty magma chamber of an extinct volcano.
