Oceanic Drop-Offs

Oceanic Drop-Offs

ELEMENT │ TERRAIN

Oceanic drop-offs are underwater locations where the elevation of the seafloor suddenly and drastically changes. This may be the edge of an oceanic plateau, a relatively steep side of a seamount, or an oceanic trench. Oceanic drop-offs can be used to inspire a sense of unease and are often used by worldbuilders to mark the transition between a safe area and the unknown in underwater worlds.
