Chinese Dragons
Although most often depicted as long serpents with four legs, Chinese dragons also have other forms, such as giant sea turtles. There are hundreds of individual dragons, but some of the most well known are listed below.


Bashe (Snake Dragon): A python-like dragon |
Chilong (Demon Dragon): A hornless mountain demon dragon |
Dilong (Earth Dragon): A massive earthworm that can control rivers and seas |
Feilong (Flying Dragon): A winged dragon that rides on mist and clouds |
Fuzanglong (Hidden Treasure Dragon): A dragon that lives underground or in volcanos and guards precious gems and metals |
Hong (Rainbow Dragon): A two-headed dragon associated with rainbows |
Huanglong (Yellow Dragon): A hornless dragon associated with the Emperor |
Jiaolong (Crocodile Dragon): A hornless and scaled dragon that is the king of all aquatic animals |
Panlong (Coiled Dragon): A lake dragon |
Qinglong (Azure Dragon): A dragon associated the the East |
Qiulong (Curling Dragon): A dragon which may be horned or hornless |
Shen (Giant Clam Dragon): A dragon that can shapeshift and create mirages |
Shenlong (God Dragon): A thunder god that can control the weather. Appears as a dragon with a human head |
Teng (Soaring Snake Dragon): A flying dragon without legs. |
Tianlong (Heavenly Dragon): A flying celestial dragon that guards heavenly palaces |
Yinglong (Responding Dragon): A winged dragon that can cause rains and floods |
Zhulong (Torch Dragon): A dragon with a human face and a serpents body |
