Space Minefields

Space Minefields

ELEMENT │ PLACE

Space minefields are a fictional minefield in space. Because space is big, fictional space minefields often contain fictionalized versions of mines that are magnetic or have some additional means to seek out nearby targets like artificial intelligence. Space minefields may be old minefields. There may be hidden routes through these areas that are safe to cross. They may be combined with additional space elements like asteroid fields or debris fields. There may be damaged spaceships nearby.

Synonyms: stellar mines
Example Mythonyms: the L4 Mine Belt

Future mines may have the ability to distinguish friend from foe and combatant from civilian. Unless, of course, something goes wrong…
